HowTo: OS X Take a Screenshot On My Mac Desktop

There are several ways to take a screenshot on an Apple macOS desktop:

1. To capture the entire screen:

• Press Command + Shift + 3

This will save a screenshot of the entire screen as a .png file on the desktop.

2. To capture a specific window:

• Press Command + Shift + 4
• Press the Space bar
• Click on the window you want to capture

This will save a screenshot of the selected window as a .png file on the desktop.

3. To capture a specific area of the screen:

• Press Command + Shift + 4
• Drag the crosshair cursor to select the area you want to capture

This will save a screenshot of the selected area as a .png file on the desktop.

You can also use the built-in Screenshot app to take screenshots on your Mac. To access the app, go to Applications > Utilities > Screenshot. From there, you can select the type of screenshot you want to take and customize the capture options.
