regionset: Linux Set / Change DVD Region Code

To set or change the DVD region code on Linux, you can use the regionset command. This command allows you to set the region code of your DVD drive, which controls which DVDs you are able to play.

To use the regionset command, you will need to have the regionset package installed on your system. You can install this package using your system's package manager, such as apt-get or yum.

Once the regionset package is installed, you can use the regionset command to set the region code of your DVD drive. For example, to set the region code to 2 (Europe), you can use the following command:

$ regionset /dev/dvd 2

Note that you will need to run this command as root, or use sudo to execute it with root privileges.

You can check the current region code of your DVD drive by using the regionset -r command. This will display the current region code, as well as the number of changes remaining before the region code is locked.

Keep in mind that most DVD drives are only able to be changed a limited number of times before the region code becomes permanently locked. Therefore, you should be careful when using the regionset command, as you may not be able to change the region code again if you reach the limit.
