Open ftp port 21 on windows XP operating system

To open FTP port 21 on a Windows XP operating system, you will need to perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Windows Firewall control panel by going to Start > Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall.

  2. Click the "Exceptions" tab and then click the "Add Port" button.

  3. In the "Name" field, enter a name for the exception, such as "FTP Port 21". In the "Port Number" field, enter "21". Leave the "Protocol" field set to "TCP".

  4. Click "OK" to add the exception.

  5. Repeat the above steps to add an exception for FTP port 20 (the data port used by FTP).

  6. Click "OK" to close the Windows Firewall control panel.

You should now be able to connect to an FTP server on port 21 from your Windows XP system. Keep in mind that you may still need to configure your FTP client software and any other necessary firewall or security settings to successfully connect to an FTP server.

If you are running a firewall other than the built-in Windows Firewall, you will need to consult the documentation for that firewall to learn how to open FTP ports.
