Compiz is a compositing window manager for Linux that provides 3D desktop effects and other advanced graphical features. To change Compiz settings, you can use the CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM).
To install CCSM on a CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system, you will need to install the compizconfig-settings-manager
package using your package manager. For example:
sudo yum install compizconfig-settings-manager
Once CCSM is installed, you can launch it from the Applications menu or by running the ccsm
command in a terminal.
CCSM provides a graphical user interface for configuring Compiz settings. You can use the left-hand pane to navigate to the settings you want to change, and use the right-hand pane to adjust the settings.
Some of the settings you can change in CCSM include:
Desktop effects: Enable or disable various desktop effects, such as window animations, cube desktop, and wobbly windows.
Window management: Configure settings for window movement, resizing, and placement.
Compositing: Enable or disable compositing and configure compositing settings.
Keyboard and mouse: Configure keyboard and mouse shortcuts for controlling Compiz and activating effects.
